Kim Sheehan

Kim’s love of golden retrievers started in 1987 when she acquired her first golden Kelsey.

In 1990 she joined GRCC and that same year Kelsey became her first Champion. Kim began volunteering for GRCC in 1994 and proceeded to hold several position including Awards Chair, Regional Director, President, Past President and currently sits on the Breed Standard/Judges Education Committee.

In 1989 she joined the Canadian Kennel Club and has been honoured with Life Membership. Her kennel name Goldenshores has received CKC permanent registration.

Although no longer actively breeding, Dogs she has bred have gone on to compete in Canada and the US in Conformation, Obedience, Field, Hunt tests, have been service dogs and much loved family companions.

As an owner and or handler Kim has been honoured to be on the other end of the lead of dogs who have had memorable wins at GRCC and GRCA National and Regional Specialties.

Kim has had the honour of judging sweepstakes at GRCC National and Regional Specialties as well as GRCA Regional Specialties and she is a CCA Cat 2 evaluator.

It all started with a puppy ….. She is so grateful and has many treasured memories of the dogs she has shared her life with, the people she has met and the lifelong friendships she has made along the way.

She is so very honoured to have been granted GRCC Life Membership in 2022.
